Friends

The Archetypes that I have choosen is Friends.  Now a days, society has changed so much that its hard to really trust others, meaning even your own family.  I think we have all gone through this phase in life but when you realize that you have that special someone that you trust, you treasure them.  In my story, I would have a teenage girl "Rosemary", she lives in Chicago with her father, mother and 2 younger siblings.  Her lifestyle is on the lower middle class.  She doesn't have many friends because she is quite quiet and has a low self esteem.  She faces many obticles in life with family problems and the worst part, she doesn't a special someone to give her mortal support.  Although, at one point had a friend "Kate" that she thought she could trust but that went sour that day she started hanging out with the divas of the junior high. Two months after school starts, a new students "Samantha" comes into their school.  Samantha right away tries to get to know Rosemary.  At first, she hesistates because she has never known what a friend is like.  Time goes by and they become good friends and Rosemary starts to feel more confident about herself and has someone to talk about her family problems.  Rosemary learned that it was ok to trust someone and that she would be trusted as well.  Time passed and their friendship grew and grew until they were adults.  Life faces us with many challenges as we are growing.  You might be lucky and have a good and true friend from your early childhood, and it continues as you grow.  But on the other hand you might have a bumpy road with supposeably good and true friends that later down the road, they backstab you and you are left alone and not being able to trust people.  Life is hard but more when you are faced with the challenge of trusting people.

Reader's Sketch

K-6
From what I can remember my parents weren’t that involved in reading to me because of the language problem.  The good thing was that I had an older cousin that was the one that would occasionally read to me.  I remember how she would come to my house or I would go to hers and have sleepovers.  The books that I can recall that she would read to me were like Little Red Riding Hood, The 3 Little Pigs, and other fairytales.  I remember that she would really get into the story and makes different voices from the characters of the book.  That I would never forget.  Even though she was 8 years older than me, she really enjoyed spending time with me and reading to me.  My parents were really grateful that she would read to me.
As I got older, I would read a little more by myself although it was a little challenging because by that time my cousin was older and more involved in her personal life.  I had to guess on some of the pronunciation because my parents weren’t able to help.  Even though I had that trouble reading, that didn’t stop me from reading and trying to pronounce the words in the books.  I really enjoyed when my teacher would read to us in class or when we read as a group.  I remember being introduced to Charlotte’s Web, books from Judy Blume and even Pippy long stocking books.  Charlotte’s Web reminded me of the times that I would go to Mexico because the suburban life that took place in the book and that was similar to where I would go.  In my grandparents house they had some pigs, horses, cows and chickens.  The story had similarities with the exception that in the story in was more like a ranch with a barn.  The books from the author Judy Blume were really interesting especially Fudge Mania, with the trouble maker of Fudge.  I would imagine myself having a brother like that but I wouldn’t be as nice as his brother.
